The Order: 1886 Delayed Till 2015, Don’t Panic

If there’s one thing that sends video game communities into a flurry of speculation it’s delays. Disappointment aside, people will often create theories to why said game was delayed, was it down to a bust release schedule? Quality control? Or was the game simply not ready? Delays are not necessarily bad thing however, even more so in the case of The Order: 1886.

With supposed visuals than blur the line between gameplay and cinematics, The Order: 1886 has carved out a little gap in the market for it’s self. There wasn’t a whole lot of buzz surrounding the game back when it was announced during E3, it’s momentum came in the subsequent gameplay videos that followed some time later. The fanfare around the game has been steadily increasing bit by bit, with more and more people seeing the game as a great example of the PS4′s power. It’s went from a title than no one really paid much attention to, to one of Sony’s big exclusives.

With this new found position, the responsibility and expectations for The Order: 1886 have increased dramatically. Naturally, Sony wants to give it’s new star the best possible chance of success. Avoiding a packed October 2014 release window (including established franchises such as Batman: Arkham Knight, Dragon Age 3) can only be beneficial for a new IP such as The Order: 1886. Avoiding this window also allows Sony to evade the blockbusters that hover around November, Call of Duty and Fifa being the key players.

The best benefit of the delay will be the extra time allotted to truly polishing the game. Ironing out any kinks, nailing down every element of the game, as well as keeping the tidal wave of hype going, all of this can only aid The Order: 1886. The delay may be frustrating for the fans, and potential consumers, but it’s surely a move with the games quality and success in mind.

I’m okay waiting until 2015 to buy the PS4.

It’s OKAY, this game will be mediocre anyway. It’s a TPS clone without anything new or exciting. It doesn’t even have co-op or multiplayer and is stuck at 30fps with tearing in current videos. NO THANKS $0N¥!
