Missed Call: Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare

Missed Call: Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare

Everyone I know praised PvZ: Garden Warfare when it dropped on the Xbox One, but I never got the chance to check it out until now, since I had just got my Xbox One back in May of this year. I won’t lie to you, even though there was a ton of praise for the game, I was heavily uninterested most of the time, and thought it probably wouldn’t hold my attention for more than an hour or two, and boy was I wrong.

This game is a right blast, and for most games like this I need a friend to drop in and play with, but from my time spent with Garden Warfare that doesn’t seem to be the case. I don’t have to worry about playing with friends, because the experience is just that enjoyable, and the game looks and sounds great too. Now, I’m absolute rubbish at this game, and that could be due to the fact that people have been playing this game since it released back in 2013, and here I am almost two years later hopping in for the first time. Luckily, my absolute lack of skill doesn’t take away from my over-all experience with Garden Warfare, so that’s a huge bonus.

Boink.

I’m really glad I took the chance and dove into the game, especially with the sequel just around the corner (which promises to be bigger, and better) so colour me intrigued. I’ll be diving a little bit more into the game after writing this piece, and most likely streaming it to my Twitch channel for some extra fun.

I’m curious to see where Popcap can go with the sequel, and I’m all for more of this game. I will say that the best time I’ve had with Garden Warfare is doing the wave-based mode titled “Garden Ops” as I’ve always been a sucker for those types of game-modes, and I’m eagerly awaiting the version where you control the Zombies in the sequel.

If you haven’t had the chance to dip into Garden Warfare this late in the game like myself, then you owe it to yourself to go do that as it’s one of the most fun games I’ve played in a long while which says something. If I had gotten around to playing with this in 2013 I have no doubts it would have made it onto my GOTY list in some way or another.
