Dark Souls Easy Mode: Difficulty Defines The Game

Dark Souls 3′s release is just around the corner, but does it need a easy mode? After a number of articles posted by sites, and comments seen on various boards, the debate over adding a Easy mode is as strong as ever. Does Dark Souls 3 need easier settings? is ‘get good’ a valid argument?

Please stop. Your argument is nothing more than “No it is mine!!” If you want to make an argument for why a difficulty mode should not be in Souls games I can give you one: Difficulty levels don’t make sense for these games because player stats matter more than player skill. Difficulty can be alleviated simply by leveling beyond the majority of enemies.

What people are even asking for wouldn’t even impact you or anyone else who did not feel like playing on easy. People are asking for a mode, not a fundamental reworking of the game into something it isn’t like DmC.

Please stop going on about artistic vision as if this is sacrosanct in something that is intended to entertain the consumer. There have been numerous times when people were very vocal about how a given direction was a total failure Ninja Gaiden 3, Mass Effect 3 DmC to name a few.(DmC being especially heinous because of the disrespect of the fanbase by Ninja Theory.)

      No, no its not.

”Difficulty levels don’t make sense for these games because player stats matter more than player skill. Difficulty can be alleviated simply by leveling beyond the majority of enemies.”

If that’s the case then people wanting easy modes already have a option :) ?

      No

I hear Lords of The Fallen is a easier version of Dark Souls, might be worth checking out…or you could just level up as you suggested?
