Call Of Duty Is A Snooze Fest

Call Of Duty Is A Snooze Fest

Call Of Duty feels like a completely stale franchise at this point (especially hearing all the negative stuff about Ghosts from some of my friends who got copies early). The series began producing titles every year, and for me the games always felt like some way they got progressively worse and stale with each iteration.

I really enjoyed CoD4, and WaW. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare changed the FPS genre and gave us a really awesome, and stellar multiplayer to experience with our buddies, and a slightly interesting story campaign. Then came along World At War which took us back to World War 2, and added in the delicious, and terrifying Zombies Mode which became the selling point for me in future Treyarch CoD titles.

I disliked Modern Warfare 2, and Modern Warfare 3. Didn’t enjoy those games in the slightest and I felt that the multiplayer component was completely un-balanced, and not enjoyable in any way. I then bought Black Ops, and Black Ops II (other Treyarch titles) solely for the Zombies mode alone, and couldn’t care less about the story and competitive multiplayer. It had become bland, repetitive, and the same crap every year.

You’re probably wondering why I spent $60 on two games for Zombies alone, and that’s because I spent way more time in that mode with my friends then I would in the competitive end. Zombies felt more exciting, and entertaining where as the multiplayer always seemed to suffer from over-powered weapons, and exploits.

Now we have Ghosts releasing on Tuesday, and will essentially be the same experience again from what I’ve been told, with the only redeeming part being the Extinction Mode, which is essentially Treyarch’s zombie mode but with aliens and some objective business added into it. I’ll hold off judgement on the game until I can get my hands on a copy but I have a feeling I’ll check the game out, not enjoy it, and sell it the following week. This is unless this ‘Extinction Mode’ ends up being worth my time, as right now I can see that’s where all my time will go into the game.

What about you readers? Will you be playing CoD: Ghosts? Or, do you think that the Call Of Duty series is getting stale, and should either change up the formula drastically or just end all together?

MW2 was the best of all the COD multiplayer games. You most likely will not like this, because it is the same. Which will be the reason that I will like it.

I don’t ask for much in a Call of Duty game. I just want a fair and balanced multiplayer mode, with minimal lag compensation problems.

Even with such low expectations, COD fails me every single year. I’m never buying another COD again before I can rent or borrow it and see if it sucks online or not.

Thanks for being one of the few not to rip my throat out for putting an opinion on the internet.

while everyone is entitled to their opinion, you’re crazy. survival in modern warfare 3 is way more fun than that nonsense of zombie mode in the worst call of duty game ever (world at war) and the black ops games.

i am glad survival is back via safeguard and extinction mode. 2 modes to play against endless waves. only disappointing thing with survival in modern warfare 3 was that you couldnt play with more than 2 players.

      Man, Survival was crap.

      But I respect your opinion.

Glad I’m not the only one who feels this way about COD4 and WaW, COD4 will forever be my favourite COD and one of my favourite FPS of all time. Although tbf, Black Ops gun game mode was really fun when played with friends, I think you should check that one out if you’ve got taste like me :)

Gun Game was alright. Definitely better in Black Ops II.

So your basis for COD a snooze fest is from what you’ve been told. Wow! What an insanely dodgy crappy journalism. Here’s a tip. Please stop writing.

I didn’t know I was a homosexual, cool. Nothing wrong with that either.

However, my basis on COD being a snooze-fest is actually on my own experiences with previous titles if you read the article, and a mention of Ghosts being the same thing just furthers my point. I’ll be reviewing Ghosts in the future, but considering what past titles were like it’s quite safe to say it will be the same material.

I enjoyed the team aspect more in bad company 2 and battlefield 3 than the run and gun action of MW2, i stopped playing BF3 after they made so many changes that it wasn’t the same game as when when i bought it (same with M.A.G).
